Barak Upatyaka Banga Sahitya – O – Sanskriti Sammelan (will be mentioned as sammelan hereafter) is the leading and representative culturo-literary – organization of Barak Valley which has been devoted to overall cultural upliftment of the Valley since 1977. In addition to that, because of the vulnerable position of the Bengali-speaking people of Assam, the Sammelan has been acting as the sentinel for protection and preservation of the rights and status of the Bengali as well other minority languages.
