Cachar Paper Mill's future is in danger
Since the Cachar Paper Mill, located at Panchgram of Hailakandi, 28 km from here, started commercial production from April 1988, it has been a mixed fortune for the management.
Since the Cachar Paper Mill, located at Panchgram of Hailakandi, 28 km from here, started commercial production from April 1988, it has been a mixed fortune for the management.
Except for profit during 2001-02 and 2003-04, it had been accumulating losses with huge stocks of paper lying indisposed, mainly due to competitive market price.
The management blamed the railways for not providing sufficient wagons for transportation of its necessary inputs from different destinations which was dismissed by the Centre.
